October 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to the new preschool year and what a wonderful year we have planned for your children. We hope those children returning enjoyed a terrific summer and hello to all those who are new to our Rainbows family. We also welcome our new assistant Samantha and welcome back to Joanna, we all missed you. À bientôt to our lovely Charlie, who has decided it is time to start spreading her wings and will be leaving us on the 3rd November. However, we are delighted that she will keep in touch and still be a valued member of the team, if only on an ad hoc basis. Charlie will also be doing some nannying while she decides on her future options, so please do keep her number in case you need an outstanding nanny! We hope you all have a lovely half term break, see you on the 30th! Chrisna.

With the whirlwind of Christmas just around the corner, I have highlighted a few important dates for you all to note in your diaries.

Please could all children attending bring a small present (£5 - £10 max) already wrapped, and with their name printed clearly on the label for Santa to distribute on the day. We will also provide a festive picnic so please could you confirm if you and your family and friends will attend. You are welcome to take photos of your child, but please remember you do need permission from other parents if their children are in the picture.

15th December Last day of term.  Merry Christmas everyone.

fun stuff

Katie Sparks, who runs Lollipops, kindly invited Rainbows to their weekly session to take part in some Halloween activities. We went and enjoyed a messy craft session of making oranges filled with orange jelly . . . . spooooky.

The Rainbows team, parents and the younger children all  loved it and we’d like to thank Katie for inviting us and we hope to visit again soon!

This term our theme is AUTUMN and the children have been busy making leaf prints and painting forest animals. The children showed real enthusiasm for the subject and decided to create a forest in the hall. It was great fun and we all loved it. We have also learnt about and celebrated Diwali, the Hindu festival of light. We made cards and decorated our hands by making a salt dough copy of our hands and painting them. It was very messy, but a lot of fun was had by all.

We have recently been handing out the Day Nurseries  (www.daynurseries.co.uk) feedback forms and if it’s not too much trouble and you’re comfortable doing so, please could you take 5 minutes to complete it and either freepost it back to them or bring it to Rainbows and we can send it off. This will help us to promote Rainbows in the local area.

Join us on Friday 17th November to support Children in Need. We will be playing lots of games and everyone is welcome so please feel free to bring along family and friends. We would like to encourage the children to attend Rainbows in fancy dress, for which there will be a £1 levy. All money raised will go straight to the Children in Need charity.

Some of you may already know Gill, Leo’s Grandmother. She has kindly offered to help run our charity events such as Children in Need, and to liaise with you all about them on our behalf, as such we’d like to pass on your email address to her. We need your written consent for this so please can you email (or click the link) confirming your permission. This email address is being protected from spambots. the rainbows family

Congratulations to two of our Rainbows’ families who have welcomed new babies into the world.

Firstly, Arran and his family following the safe arrival of baby JesseJames, and also Teddy and co. for baby Rafe.

Many congratulations to you all!

Happy birthday to Gabriel and to Leo who both turned 3 this September.

A gentle reminder that preschool fees are payable on or before the first day of each term. Instalments must be paid by the payment dates indicated on the bill.  If paying in full the payment should be made by the first instalment date.  We reserve the right to charge late fees of £5/wk for any instalments not made by the payment dates.  Payments may be made by cash, cheque, internet-banking or employer childcare vouchers.  Continual failure to meet payments may result in the termination of the Pre-School place. All sessions that have been booked will be included in your bill, even if your child misses a session due to illness or holiday. Any ad-hoc hours must be paid for in advance. Thank you for taking the time to make a note of this.
